The city placed in northeastern Spain – Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. It is the 2nd largest Spanish city located in the comarca of Barcelonès, along the Mediterranean coast between the mouths of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs. Barcelona is the major port, and industrial, commercial, cultural and educational center of Spain.

Barcelona is very famous for the wonderful architectural creations of Antoni Gaudí including Park Güell, Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà or La Pedrera, and Colonia Guell. The most famous works of Gaudi – Sagrada Familia has been under construction since 1882. Casa Milà or La Pedrera, one of the best works by Antoni Gaudi was recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1984.
Barcelona is also known for the modernist Architecture designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Palau de la Música Catalana, one of the famous works of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997.
Barcelona’s museums & art galleries are one of the major attractions of the city. Barcelona has a large number of museums.
